About Fairfields Swimming Club

Fairfields Swimming Club is a non-profit outdoor swimming club that is owned and operated as a co-operative by members. It is located in the Clarkson / Lorne Park area of Mississauga. It was started in 1959 when local couples wanted to find ways to connect the families moving into the new community. They were able to have the land donated and families from the area paid $100 per child to build the pool and pool house, which opened in 1960.

For many years it served the area with swimming lessons and programming for the whole family. Even through the pandemic, Fairfields did their best to  offer a safe, reprieve from the confines of the indoors. Currently the Club property includes the heated outdoor pool, trained lifeguards, and an adjacent grassy yard for games and family picnics.

So many generations have fond memories of the pool, with past members who grew up at the pool bringing back their own kids to experience the same sense of belonging and summer fun. It continues to be a cornerstone of the community today.

As a member at Fairfields, you’ll be part of a great aquatic community focused on fitness, family and fun. Members have access to an array of programs throughout the summer designed for children and adults, including but not limited to:

  • Swimming lessons, adult aqua-fit
  • Family swim times
  • Citi-Swim and synchro swimming training
  • Social events
