Membership Benefits
As a member at Fairfields, you will be part of a great aquatic community focused on fitness, family and fun. Members have access to an array of programs throughout the summer designed for children and adults, including:
- Swimming Lessons: Complementary two-week session for each child in your family
- Citi-Swim: Daily, 45-minute swim practice and up to *three meets per season
- Organized Pool Games
- Family Swims
- Lane Swims
- Social events throughout the season
- Other programming including synchro swimming, water polo and adult aqua-fit
Types of Membership
There are six types of membership:
Family Membership: Defined as up to two (2) adults and all unmarried children, 25 years of age and under residing at the same address. Each child is entitled to one set of lessons throughout the season. Citi*Swim practices, tot time, synchro and other child related activities are included for members children. This membership does not cover grandchildren or extended family unless you are the legal guardian of said child and they reside at the same address.
Adults Membership: Defined as up to two adults (18 and over) residing at the same address. This membership level does not include children. Any children would be considered guests and would not be permitted at the pool without a member and a guest pass. Swimming lessons would be available only in accordance with our non-member rules and regulations. Therefore, if you are interested in programs for children, please sign up for a family level membership.
Single Adult Membership: Full membership for one adult only (18 and over).
Senior Single Membership: Senior Single members are individual senior adults 65+. This membership does not cover grandchildren or extended family. Senior members pay a reduced rate and are not required to participate in the volunteer hours program, however, it is still encouraged that they help out whenever possible. This is a non-voting member.
Non-share Membership: Full family membership without the purchase of a share. Good for 1 year, NON-RENEWABLE.
Loyalty Membership: Loyalty members are adult families that have belonged to Fairfields for 20 or more years. Family members are not eligible for lessons or Citi*Swim. Loyalty members pay a reduced rate and are not required to participate in the volunteer hours program, however it is still encouraged that they help out whenever possible.
Membership Costs
There are three components to the membership cost: a one-time Share Purchase Price, the Annual Membership dues and an annual volunteer deposit, which can be refunded if the required volunteer commitments are completed.
Share Purchase Price
As the pool is organized as a co-operative, all members are co-owners and are required to purchase a share to join. This is a one-time initiation fee is $525, which includes a $375 share purchase price and a membership transfer fee of $150.00. When you no longer wish to be a member at the pool, you can choose to sell your membership share and the $375 share price will be returned to your family once the share is sold, less any outstanding fees.

Annual Membership Dues
Each member at Fairfields Swimming Club is responsible for annual dues, which cover pool maintenance, lifeguards, swimming lessons, club programs and other expenses (e.g. utilities, insurance). There are six membership levels, depending on what best suits your family, which will determine the cost of the dues. To see the costs for each level for this season, click HERE.
Annual Volunteer Deposit
Fairfields Swimming Club is administered by a volunteer board of directors and relies heavily on its volunteer program to plan social events and help maintain the pool property. Each member is required to provide a post-dated cheque for $250.00 dated October 1 with their annual membership dues. Should you or your family complete and report the required credits during the season, the cheque will be destroyed. If the hours are not served and reported, the cheque will be cashed. Should you know at the beginning of the season you will not be able to complete the volunteer requirement, the $250 can be paid up front. Only Senior and Loyalty members are exempt from the volunteer program and deposit.
However, all members are encouraged to participate in the volunteer program and special events. It is a great way to get to know other members at the pool.
